Closing her custom house in the 1980's, she opened a research laboratory specifically aimed to conquer the problems of clothing for people in wheelchairs. These research results brought forth the same type of clothing problems for individuals in long-term-sitting, squatting, and climbing situations. The fashion wants of individuals had to be combined with the medical needs created by current clothing design. This is what made the paradigm of Vestimology©.
