DESIGN
The most intelligent investmentintelligent investment a person can make is an investment in their own future. The Vestimological© information in “THE MISSING LINK”© can prepare you for the rewards of a first class professional career. This design concept applies to a broad segment of the clothing industry. For instance:

Most phases of building construction Peace Officers All phases of military sitting, squatting situations

Computer and factory workers People in Sit-Down-Figure© situations Bus. truck, and equipment drivers

Laboratory research resulted in the new paradigm of Vestimology©, which supersedes all medical and design field principles. Vestimological© knowledge exceeds all other clothing solutions in the medical area of rehabilitative medicine. By using correct terminology, the biological equipment (medically prescribed clothing) instruction allows private sector insurance to pay for prescribed clothing needs. For example, those that are preventing or curing decubitus ulcers as well as physical needs that cause expensive medical problems.

INCREASED MUSCLE DEVELOPMENT

People land in wheelchairs for various reasons. It is never good news regarding the existing clothes they have in their closets. For those in the type of accidents that cause paraplegia, quadriplegia, or lower body double amputation, the big shock is yet to come. After months of rehabilitation, while learning to live with a new mobility form, they are finally able to leave the rehabilitation center and go home. They immediately want to get comfortable and feel "at home" in their favorite garment.

Now for the shock... They are totally unprepared for what they find in their closet. It does not matter what is selected to wear, they cannot get it to work for their new body shape.

  • The pants are too bunchy in front.
  • The zipper is too high to use.
  • The back is down so low on the buttocks it leaves them sitting in a draft most of the day.
  • The legs of the pants are too short making the ankles cold.

On and on goes the fit for the lower body. True, this all took place when they sat down before rehabilitation. The difference is, they could stand up, pull the pants up in the back and the legs back down where they wanted them to be. Now they cannot do this. After twenty minutes of squirming in different positions, if they are able to do so, to get the clothing comfortable, the problem is still there. This is when a small panic attack occurs of, “I can't help myself!” This is true.

These people go home prepared to face life as it is handed to them, and the clothing dilemma is so vast a shock, it shoves them into depression. The doctors think the depression is from the accident problems in whatever form, and treat for that. No one understands the personality gets shut down in that half hour of trying to find something to wear. These people and their families rely on the doctors for help, but the doctors are completely unprepared to offer help in these situations. The doctors believe the rehabilitation units have covered all the bases with these people. Yet the rehabilitation units have not understood the compound affect that the clothing's ill fit for the physical body will create for the mind and emotions. Thus, “the missing link in rehabilitative medicine” is costing millions of dollars in therapy that cannot possibly correct the problems, because the wrong cause is being addressed.

The instructions in “THE MISSING LINK”© ebook series are to help people in any field understand the needs of those confined to long-term-sitting situations. The instructions are written for the person who must help these people adjust to the new position their bodies function in. “THE MISSING LINK”© series is aimed to:

  • People in wheelchairs and other long-term-sitting situations
  • Family and caregivers of those in these situations
  • Those who sew for themselves and homesewers
  • Tailors, seamstresses and those who sew for others

At the same time, the aim is to reach designers for mass clothing industry and custom design houses. Also those within the client counseling professions need to understand the clothing dilemma and solutions.

Tailors, seamstresses, home sewers, and pattern makers will all find that my research was done with actual wheelchair clients. I applied the utmost integrity to my research, gaining insight into the deficiency of the fashion industry. An outgrowth of that insight brought forth the need for preventative medicine to address the clothing issues of their clients.

These instructions will not only enable tailors, seamstresses, and home sewers to adequately adjust the present clothing, but also the patterns, commercial and custom, before cutting the garments. It will facilitate much less fitting and redoing time.
